National Volunteer Appreciation Week is a time to share thanks and gratitude for the wonderful people who give their time, energy and passion to a project, program or cause.  At United Way of Portage County, we are very grateful for the numerous volunteers that support our work on committees, through programs and services, and as advocates in our community.  

In honor of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, United Way of Portage County asked some of the amazing volunteers that lend their support, ideas, creativity and time to the organization to get a feel for why they are so committed to the work being done.  Here are two reasons provided by two fantastic volunteers, Jean and David:
