2008 Days of Caring: September, 2008,  Days of Caring projects are coordinated by United Way staff and allow businesses that are United Way supporters with a glimpse of how the organization’s partner programs and agencies operate. This year, over 75 employees of Portage County-based businesses rolled up their sleeves and pitched in to assist local social service agencies with a variety of projects during United Way of Portage County’s 15th Annual Days of Caring. 

2006 5K/10K Race & 1 Mile Fun Walk:  July, 2006, United Way of Portage County’s 3rd Annual 5K/10K Race & 1-mile Fun Walk fundraiser, held on Saturday, July 1, 2006, in downtown Kent, in conjunction with the city’s Heritage Festival, was a great success. The Davey Tree Expert Company was the lead sponsor.  Other key sponsors included the Record Publishing Company, Allen Aircraft Company, PARTA, Kent State University, Deluxe Business Services, AT&T, and Dr. Stephen Belli.  The event drew 270 participants and raised $10,500 for the work that United Way does in helping those in need in Portage County...  

2006 Hiram College Leadership Event: August 2006, United Way of Portage County and Hiram College united on August 12, 2005 to recognize leaders in the community who “raise the bar” when it comes to philanthropic giving in our community...

2005 United Way Day at Aurora Farms Premium Outlets:  December 2005, Aurora Farms Premium Outlets raised money for United Way of Portage County with special, one-day merchant discounts...

2005 UW of Portage County Finale Event: February 2006, United Way of Portage County closed its 2005 campaign $30,000 higher than last year. The organization closed out the annual fund campaign February 7, 2006, announcing it had reached pledges totaling $1,0170,000 for the 2005 campaign...
