Day of Caring

Depend and United Way are coming together to promote healthy, active, and independent living throughout an individual’s life, with a focus on volunteering.

Day of Caring - Tuesday, June 21, 2016

We are happy to announce that thanks to Depend United Way of Portage County is one of many United Way's that is receiving a sponsorship grant to help with the costs of the 2016 Day of Caring.  This sponsorship will help cover the cost of materials/tools needed for many of the projects and lunches for the volunteers.

Join United Way on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 8-4 for a day of volunteer service, fun and food. United Way will be holding our annual Day of Caring, mobilizing more than 50 corporate and community volunteers at more than 10 local non-profit agencies.  We are currently accepting individual and group volunteer sign ups and agency project submissions.  More information is below.

Volunteers Unite

Day of Caring is a day of work and fun to aid local nonprofit health and human service agencies in Portage County (must be an IRS certified  501(c)3). Your employee group could help clean up playgrounds, do some painting, read to children, deliver meals or a variety of other projects. Whenever possible, groups are matched with projects that best fit their interests, skills and geographic preferences.

Where Would We Volunteer?

There are project sites at United Way affiliated agencies and other nonprofit organizations throughout Portage County. Every effort will be made to match your group with a project that fits your interests and skills.

How Do I Benefit?

In addition to making our community a better place to live, work and raise a family, employers and employees often discover that working together on a Day of Caring project enhances communication and fosters teamwork within their company.

How Can I Learn More?
